    Semi-Mileage Run Singapore: Victory!

    Byglenn November 22, 2013February 8, 2014

    Semi-Mileage Run Singapore: Weirdness

    Byglenn November 21, 2013February 8, 2014

Here is the first from the restrooms in the Changi Airport.  I can only picture the poor attendant being marched off at gunpoint if you gave…

    Semi-Mileage Run Singapore: Food!

    Byglenn November 20, 2013February 8, 2014

Anyone who knows Singapore knows that it is famous for two things – shopping and food!  My wife happens to like both and is quite the foodie.  Fortunately, her friend Abby was able to take us to some of the places local eat at rather than just the tourist spots. The first food spot will…

    Semi-Mileage Run Singapore: Sightseeing

    Byglenn November 19, 2013February 8, 2014

The wife and I had never been to Singapore so the whole city was new to us.  We did have one advantage in that one of my wife’s childhood friends, Abby, has lived and worked there for the last eight years so we would have a native guide for at least one day while we…

Semi-Mileage Run Singapore: The Hotel Game

    Byglenn November 15, 2013February 8, 2014

I related to you the strategy for getting inexpensive plane tickets.  I’ll now go through the planning and execution phases for our hotel nights in Singapore. So the good news is that Singapore is one city so you can’t wander too far when booking a hotel.  Sometimes I have booked a hotel in a “city”…

    Chase Fee Addendum

    Byglenn November 14, 2013November 14, 2013

It seems that in my post-ER-shift delirium, I forgot, while writing this article, to write about HOW to apply for SCRA benefits for Chase cards. My thinking at the time was probably that you’d read the article about how to get them for the Amex cards. Anyways – How do you get your fees waived on…

Semi-Mileage Run Singapore: Getting There is NOT Half the Fun

    Byglenn November 13, 2013February 8, 2014

Following up from yesterday, here is the first day of my wife and I’s adventure to earn 1K status again by traveling from BWI to SIN and back in a few days. Getting on the Super Shuttle at O’Dark Thirty (actually 0215) is not anyone’s idea of fun, but I had a 0625 UA flight awaiting…

    Byglenn November 12, 2013February 8, 2014

When last we left our intrepid hero (me), I had just crossed a million lifetime miles with United.  This not only gives me lifetime Gold, but also my lovely spouse as well.  In fact, when we travel together she is equal in status to me – so currently she is a 1K!  While Lifetime Gold…

American Airlines is helping the USO out with a promotion they offer most years around Veterans’ Day.  For each dollar donated to the USO, American will give you 15 AAdvantage miles, with a $25 minimum.  This is pretty good payback for a tax deductible donation to a great charity.  See the details here.  The promotion lasts until 15…
