Get 15% Off on Alaska Flights with Veterans Advantage (Temporary Deal)

I have written extensively in the past about the membership program Veterans Advantage and how it saves me a lot of money. My tally for the last 12 months is savings of $495 on airfare. Much more than the $59 annual fee. They have a lot of other discounts as well, such as CVS, rental…

Great Deal for 10% off all Alaska Flights to Hawaii from Veterans Advantage

I can’t think of ever seeing a deal giving 10% off of airfare like this. Veterans Advantage is a membership club for veterans that already gives 5% off of all United and jetBlue flights and 3% off of all Alaska flights, along with many other discounts on other travel services.  I’ve paid for membership for…

Tech Discounts Using Your Veterans Advantage Card

This is a follow on post to the post that I made last week about the new 20% discount card members can get at Office Depot/ Office Max.  One person inquired asking if tech items were included.  I had to respond that tech items are not included.  That’s understandable to me since they are high…

Get 20% Off at all Office Depot Stores with Veterans Advantage

I have written several of times about getting and using the Veterans Advantage card and its associated discounts here, here, and most recently here. I get it primarily for the 5% off all United/ JetBlue/ Lufthansa flights which pays for its membership right there for me.  Also, however, it has great discounts off of rental cars,…

Scott and company over at Veterans Advantage are not ones to rest on their laurels and are always looking to arrange yet another discount for members.  The latest two improved deals are from Amtrak and Verizon. Now Get 5% Off on All jetBlue Flights with Veterans Advantage

Over the three years of writing this blog, I have written more than a few times about Veterans Advantage and the discounts that veterans can get with their membership.  I evaluated the 5% off on United and Lufthansa flights, car rentals, and other discounts such as Ford vehicle discounts.  I also use the 20% CVS…

The Latest News from Veterans Advantage

I have written a fair amount about Veterans Advantage over the last couple of years.  It is a good deal for me and I have provided my analysis of whether it is a good deal for you.  I had another conference call will the Veterans’ Advantage CEO, Scott Higgins, and their VP of marketing, Roy Asfar.  The…

Veterans Advantage Card Savings to Date and a New Benefit

If you have been following my blog, you know that last spring I got the Veterans Advantage Card and I thought it worth a little update to see how my savings are going so far.  The card gives discounts on a wide range of items, including pharmaceuticals, Ford cars, Footlocker, etc. and best of all a %5 discount on all United tickets.  They just announced a new benefit of 10% off everything at CVS/ pharmacy (except ironically prescriptions – but they have a separate prescription benefit).  This CVS discount is great since it is above and beyond any normal veterans benefit that you could get with out the card. So how am I doing so far this year?  I have saved: $210 on United tickets for myself and my family members. $48 on car rentals through Thrifty and Dollar $ 350 on a Ford SUV ( this discount is new this year and came out only two weeks before I needed to buy a car for my graduating daughter) Total:  $608.00 …

Ford Vehicle Discount – New from Veterans Advantage

Roy and Scott told me they were working on getting Veterans’ Advantage members access to the Ford X-Plan discount.  They finally got all the i’s dotted and t’s crossed a couple of weeks ago.  Just in time for me to buy a new car for the daughter after her graduation from college.  The timing couldn’t have been better!  The X-Plan works by accessing their website here.  The website is kind of neat in that it will display you the model you select and then let you play around with color and options available thus giving you a good idea of what you want and don’t want before even entering the dealer’s showroom. The X-plan T&C’s are here and give you some pretty favorable pricing.  Note that there are four types of discount plans for Ford so make sure the dealer knows you are eligible for the X-plan and not something else.  Here is the formula for the discount: The X-Plan price is noted on the dealer invoice. Ford Dealer Invoice – (0.4% * Dealer Invoice)…
